“Telefonica Czech Republic AS won’t sell Apple’s new iPhone 4S and will end sales of all Apple’s models because of Apple’s business terms, Hospodarske Noviny reported, citing Telefonica’s local spokesman Hany Farghali,” Lenka Ponikelska reports for Bloomberg.
“Czech units of Vodafone Group and T-Mobile International AG will start selling Apple’s iPhone 4s today, the newspaper added,” Ponikelska reports.

This effects around 0 people. Everyone in the Czech Republic buys the full price unlocked iPhone as the price is almost the same as subsidized. Go figure.

Luckily, for Czechs, this doesn’t make a difference, since there are those two other carriers (T-Mobile and Vodafone) who are more than happy to offer it.

Czechs are even more capitalistic than Americans but they don’t master the rules yet.
Czechs do not now use, nor have they ever used, the Cyrillic alphabet.
They are just trying to pull a Greece. They don’t want to pay the same amount as every other carrier.
The benefits of selling iPhone models would probably outweigh the perceived costs of doing so. Glad I’m not a shareholder of Telefonica.
