The Cupertino City Council meeting was adjourned in memory of Steve Jobs on Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
The city is in the process of reviewing the new Apple Campus 2 headquarters project, which was Mr. Jobs’ vision.
The new “Mothership” campus, on a site totalling 175 acres, is planned to house up to 13,000 employees in one central four-storied circular building of approximately 2,800,000 square feet (260,000 m2) (including a café for 3,000 sitting people) surrounded by extensive landscape (with parking mainly underground and the rest centralized in a parking structure). Other facilities include a 1,000 seat auditorium, 300,000 square feet (28,000 m2) of R&D facilities, a fitness center and a dedicated generating plant as primary source of electricity (powered by natural gas and other more environmentally sound means).
On June 7, 2011, Apple CEO Steve Jobs stated “It’s got a gorgeous courtyard in the middle – and a lot more. It’s a circle, so it’s curved all the way round. This is not the cheapest way to build something. Every pane of glass in the building is curved. The existing ratio of built-up area to landscaping on the site is 80:20, but the new ratio will be 20:80, that is, 80% of the site area will be greenery.”
This video was developed by city staff as a tribute to Mr. Jobs.

Hello Cupertino?
I guess that’s why they don’t get an Apple store..
The City of Cupertino as opposed to its largest taxpayer is still stuck in the Nineties with Windows XP desktops.
Right clicking on the video tells me it’s Flash.
Of course it’s a coin toss as to which is more evil. 😉
Ellis, well said. I was wondering what the big problem was when I watched it too.
Apple… it just works. 🙂

That was a beautiful tribute.
When Steve spoke to them about the new building it was obvious he was having trouble with breathing and energy but he soldiered on. Courageous man, so much substance of true worth, so on fire for what he believed in his heart, which is in tune with Truth. The world has never seen his like before. A great one comes with a unique personality and is not recognized as such at first.
Steve gave the world easy ways and tools to immortalize these amazing moments. Thank you Steve.
Well can’t view on iPad. Shame on you City of Cupertino to produce that without using open standards that work with Apple products.
Good song for the tribute to Steve. Two amazing legends, Lennon and Jobs, well done!
