Steve Jobs was a jerk; good for him

“In case you haven’t heard, Steve Jobs passed away last week,” Gene Marks writes for Forbes. “The praise has been pouring in. And deservedly so. He was a genius. A man that made a tremendous impact on the world. During the week, I probably read thirty or forty blogs and columns about his life and accomplishments.”

“But I wasn’t learning much about Steve Jobs the person. The boss,” Marks writes. “That is until I read this great piece from Ryan Tate. And I really began to learn something about Steve Jobs. Jobs wasn’t successful just because he was creative, brilliant and hardworking. There are a lot of creative, brilliant and hardworking people running technology businesses. Jobs had an extra little something going on that further separated him from his peers: He was a jerk. Good for him.”

  1. i think original author accusing iSteve to be jerk, Gawker’s Ryan Tate, himself, is the jerk!

    Simply because
    1. DISRESPECT
he wrote that article so close to Steve’s death.
have some respect you for the dead you jerk!

    2. BS
Tate and so many Apple haters or Steve naysayers list so many more inventions that are more essential and how Steve was insignificant or changed nothing in the world, or that Steve was not a philanthropist etc…but it’s all wrong and can be proven. however here, Tate states Steve was a jerk for not caring, for being an abusive tyrant to staff & using sweatshops…haha!

    a. PROOF
sweat shop reports have been studied, nothing was proven

    b. HYPOCRISY
we Americans tend to judge without facts. just like Pres. Bush’s womd that never existed. we manipulate people ourselves, our society & gov. do! our banks. our pharma industry. our insurances. our entire society stinks of disinformation & lies (even in democratic elections) & politically correct police state control & censorship & big brother recordings etc. but only Steve & Apple are crooks?!

    c. OUTSOURCE
give me one American or Western corporation that does not outsource to the 3rd world and where child labor is nonexistent? Exxon for instance, is totally abusive of human & ecological rights in poor countries it exploits. every conglomerate exploits at some point, whether the headquarter offices know or not.

    d. BRIBE
not that it justifies Apple, if others or everyone else does it too, but since Apple owns so many markets & so many competitors are desperate to get back on their feet, they bribe investigators to make shit up or blame Apple, who might not have known, whilst Apple does not play those dirty games & wastes stockholder dollars to investigate the dirt others do have too

    e.
we Americans tend to judge, jump to conclusions, but we’re usually free to make up stories, though free of guilt too, for not checking facts. we tend to be the most ignoramus nation on the planet, that never leave their hometown or see the world, as even if we do, all we know is to order hamburgers, hence always seeing the world in our goggles, never seeing the other side. the thing is, we blame Steve or Apple for the sweatshop suicides but it in Chinese & Japanese culture Honor is everything. so, if an employee screwed up a product in the assembly line or was caught revealing industrial secrets, to his own village or the press or a competitor, he or she will probably commit suicide in shame. it’s not for us to understand those cultures or to judge them.
