“Apple has informed resellers in seven new European countries that the Apple TV will indeed be launching as of next Tuesday, October 4th, the day of Apple’s iPhone media event,” Eric Slivka reports for MacRumors. “Countries set to receive the Apple TV on Tuesday include Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.”
Slivka reports, “The Apple TV is planned to sell at a price of €119, including VAT, in Finland, in line with existing pricing in other eurozone countries… The device has already been added to at least one reseller site in Norway, with pricing there shown at kr 849.”

A typical household dialogue will go like this.
“Pass us the remote love, I want to see what’s on Apple TV.”
“It’s no use Bess, it’s just reruns of the Queen & that Cambridge Duo on telly.”
“Is that a penguin on the Apple TV on the telly?”
I wonder if this means a price cut and new software. The hardware is still good for another year. But a $79 price and new software functions would be great.

This would have to be a separate European version. In Europe they don’t uses the NTSC/ATSC standards that we use in the US.
It is going to be fun fun fun!
The AppleTV uses HDMI output, not analogue. NTSC/ATSC is irrelevant, as is PAL or SECAM or any other old standard…
