“One of our high-level AT&T sources just informed us that an AT&T Vice President has confirmed to several employees that the iPhone 5 is slated to launch in early October,” Jonathan S. Geller reports for BGR.

Birthday present for me.
I just hope the rumor of the am/fm radios built in are true (apple patented it last year)
Mid October for me, my fellow October-born, or is it Octoberian?
I’m glad an AT&T VP (hope MDN/WP now allows the & symbol) has leaked something before a Verizon counterpart, for a change.
At least it’s not October of next year.
Yeh right. A VP tells a couple of mere employees this, in a private conversation. “Hey Joe, Bill, since we’re such good buddies let me tell you something….”
Which customers are eligible for the ATT upgrade?
VP@AT&T… We need to talk.

if your boss told you to prepare your staff to be busy the next 35 to 50 days, does that mean you can give your staff time-off the next 34 days? The quote was – in the next 35 to 50 days.
My take, the iPhone 5 releae is imminent and can happen within the next fifteen days and that sales will be brisk for at least a month after that.
My take is they get the first sales by the end of September to bring sales numbers up to speed, then the rest of the millions ‘trickle in’ through December… So, September 20-something release or presale.
This jives with yesterday’s story about Apple reducing the orders for iPhone 4 units. It’s not because of slower sales, it’s because iPhone 5 is coming. Woot!
Bullshit
