“‘I don’t know why AT&T’s calling for all hands on deck those weeks, but it’s not for an iPhone launch,’ a source familiar with Apple’s plans said,” Paczkowski reports. “So when can we expect the company to uncrate the iPhone 5? ‘October,’ the source said.”

That’s a hoot of a phrase, “sources with knowledge of the situation.” Isn’t that what a source is supposed to be? Wouldn’t it be great if some of these bloggers wrote, “Sources with absolutely no knowledge of the situation”?
Fact is, most of them probably should be writing that all the time.

I’d rather believe Tim Cook who twice mention in the earnings call a major product transition in this quarter. Also the product transition was the reason Apple gave a low guidance for Q4 earnings, the iPhone is the only product line that could have that effect.
I love it when someone unfamiliar with Apple’s secrecy says something like “I’m waiting for the new one in —-“. As if it’s fact.
Well, they have a couple of months left to again “move up” the release date before they run out of 2011.
They’re falling down on the job.
