Purported iPad 3 part photo leaks online

“Taiwanese Apple-focused forum Apple.pro has leaked what appears to be an iPad 3 part,” Christian Zibreg reports for 9to5Mac.

“The machine-translated description mentions a part labeled ‘821-1259-06’ which looks a lot like a dock connector with the accompanying ribbon cable attached to it,” Zibreg reports. “The ribbon cable itself makes a 90-degree turn whereas it was straight on iPad 1 and 2.”

Zibreg reports, “This in itself indicates some design changes of the next iPad’s internals. For comparison, the iPad 2′s dock connector is labeled ‘821-1180-A,’ the site observes… The component is said to be sourced from Apple’s ‘internal inventory’ and leaked by an unnamed source.”

  1. Demand for iPad 2 is still at peak volume worldwide. There is no competition in sight and nothing will come close for a long time, iPhone demand is still exploding.

There’s no sane reason Apple will shoot itself in the foot and release the next version of iPad before running the distance with it’s current hi,t which is selling like hot cakes and set bad precedent to introducing two models per year.

    Don’t believe the hype.

  2. Wow, just looking at that nondescript L-shaped part makes me realize how amazing the iPad 3 is gonna be.

That’s a MUCH MORE AMAZING nondescript L-shaped part than the current iPad!!

  3. Dmitri, you are SUCH a dunce. This is not a MUCH MORE AMAZING nondescript L-shaped part than the current iPad2 nondescript L-shaped part. This is a much more amazing L-SHAPED nondescript part than the current iPad2 NON-L-SHAPED nondescript part.

    It is AMAZING!

  4. What is it with Asians and their need to leak or fake every little piece of Apple Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA) protected hardware?

    821-1259-06 ≠ 821-1180-A <–BFD
