  1. $1200? Seriously?…Adobe seems stuck in the 90’s when Flash was owned by Macromedia and still viable…and you could get away with charging for software like this… They followed the Microsoft model and still do…bloat the crap out of your packages while making incremental refinements…even Microsoft saw the end of that road. How many improvements can you make to a word processor? How many improvements are possible with image processing? You reach a point of diminishing returns…hence software as a service…

I think many people will greet this news as deeply underwhelming. Some..perhaps even many will buy it…and find they don’t need over half of it. Wake up Adobe…wake UP.

  2. the upgrade price for me is $949 just to top off the stupidity of it all the UK price in pounds for the exact same upgrade is £952 !! which is equivalent to around $1500 talk about ripping your customers off

  3. If only they fixed the apps. The only reason they can call it a suite is because they sell it together. Adobe constantly makes people believe that CS is something extraterrestrial and improving it is hard. Have you seen what Apple did with Final Cut X, Adobe? That is what I call an update.

  4. The thing that makes me angry is that I recently purchased the academic version of CS5.0 Design Standard for the Mac – less 45 days ago. Adobe refuses to give everyone that bought CS5.0 a free upgrade to CS5.5 – absolutely ridiculous IMO.

So Adobe wants to be like that? I demanded and got a full refund from Adobe because of their bloody greed. I am through with Adobe for good.

Acorn now has text features I need and Pixelmator will have it soon as well. Adobe is going downhill and fast.

  5. Even better is that there are no significant changes in Photoshop as that update is scheduled for later this year. And if you buy 5.5 you won’t get a free upgrade to the new version in six months,
