“Apple isn’t wasting anytime fixing the infamous location tracking issue in the iPhone and other iOS devices — it’s going to be addressed in an update within the next two weeks, possibly sooner, in iOS version 4.3.3,” Jonathan S. Geller reports for BGR, citing “one” of his “Apple sources.”
Among other things, Geller reports, “The update will no longer back up the location database to iTunes. The size of the location database will be reduced. The location database will be deleted entirely when Location Services are turned off.”

It’s not an issue, it’s reported all over the place that it’s a non issue, but the media won’t listen.
Hell I bet they will say it’s apples fault that google is tracking people.

How’s that for action all the knee jerks?
There were errors on Apple’s part with respect to this file, and Apple is stepping up to its responsibilities and addressing them. That is about the only good thing to come out of all of this so far.
The political and media coverage of Apple was not balanced or informed. After all of those dolts pat themselves on the back for a “job well done,” will they remember to follow through and apply the same scrutiny to Google/Android? Or will they assume that free and “open source” equates to perfection?
