“Three employees from Taiwan-based Foxconn Electronics’ (Hon Hai Precision Industry’s) plants in Shenzhen, China, have been charged with leaking iPad 2’s design to outside accessory companies in China, according to a Chinese-language sznews.com report,” Lisa Tsai and Joseph Tsai report for DigiTimes.
The local police on December 26, 2010, arrested three employees that were suspected of leaking the design, and officially charged the three employees for violating the company’s trade secrets on March 23, 2011, the reported added,” Tsai and Tsai report.

Or did you want Apple to stop production of all it’s devices, build it’s own plants, restart production and double the prices to cover costs?
My guess is that the average American worker would be a whole lot happier if most companies (not just Apple) would move their factories to America and employ American workers, who would be able to afford the higher prices because they would be working. What a concept!
Yeah, get out of China and bring back the jobs to the American worker so that our economy can get back to stability.
I sympathize with you. But for your wishful thinking to become reality there is at least one fundamental “change” required. The power to make this change is in your hands in 2012!
If you believe that this “change” involves putting the guys supported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce back in control, then you are tragically misinformed. The Chamber among other things is heavily funded by Offshoring Companies, which are working to move manufacturing jobs out of the US.

But that’s the great thing about the Chinese economy, you can live on a bowl of rice. You might not have a flat screen TV in every room (or any room) but when your talking necessities versus luxuries… Plus with the current rate of inflation, a bowl of rice here will soon be $20.
You’re joking right? Foxconn workers make a very good wage. Employees at Foxconn are at the top of the food chain in the manufacturing sector in China.

I have a fully functional sarcasm and humor detector, but sometimes, the internet doesn’t seem to convey all the information necessary for my detector to work.
Remember, s**t flows downhill. These poor peons are likely taking the fall for some greedy managers with real back door access, using the secretive info to “pad” their pockets, so to speak.
I once worked for a security company:
1. One night, working under cover as late night clean-up for a major chain, I was in the bathroom when a group of six managers entered the store, took cases of beer and hard liquor. They also took the security camera tapes. The next day, threats of firing employees found guilty of the theft were posted and those managers were intimidating workers in the hopes they could pin it on one of them. I called the owner and they were all fired.
2. A major hotel noticed a drop in profits from their high end restaurant. Investigation (cameras) found managers and the Top Chef were stealing crates of tenderloin steaks … and blaming the losses on “employee pilfering”.
3. In our very own security company, the boss hired a new manager who used his stockroom key to liberate the company of about $40,000 of inventory. I discovered his garage full of our equipment.
4. a Local hardware chain found a manager was loading crates beside the loading dock during the day and coming by at 2AM to load them onto his truck. Once again blaming employee theft.
In all my time I have never witnessed large amounts being taken by employees because they don’t have the access, time, or trust. Employees do pilfer small things like paper and tape, but bosses and managers steal major amounts … because they have the opportunity, authority, and often simply because they can.
The biggest criminals are usually working at the executives. Either by being corrupt or morally bankrupt. Of course, not all of them are… but many many are.
The Kraken eats well tonight…
Hard to say what will happen to these employees. Knowing China, they’ll either get an award (China routinely rewards those involved in “corporate espionage” against foreign companies) or they’ll be executed.
The responsibility falls, as it should, on management. Foxconn better eliminate the leaks or it will lose lucrative Apple contracts.
