4.3 has had issues from the start. I sensed no real improvement from 4.2.1. WiFi still has trouble.
No real improvement???? Safari is so much faster now. And home share!?! Are you kidding? Moron.
I said I saw no real improvement. WiFi still has trouble. I did not say anything about new features. Sure are quick witted with your name calling there.
I started having major wifi issues with 4.3 bit I finally tracked it down to too many routers in too close a proximity sharing the same channel. Switched the router to a channel that wasn’t being used and it works great now. Worth checking. I stumbled will show you all the router channels. Strange that all my laptops were not affected but the iPhones were.
Eric, why are you so out of control with your rage?
danilko 1 is quite correct. 4.3 has created more problems then necessary, and the updating was unfortunate.
If you don’t agree, that’s cool – but there is no need to call those who have a view different then your’s, “moron”. It just reflects poorly on you, and creates unnecessary unpleasantness for everybody here.
Don’t be so quick to bash those that are having issues.
I don’t have any battery problems, or wifi issues. But… My auto correct does NOT work in safari anymore. Everywhere else it works fine. But only on my iPhone 4, iPad works fine everywhere.
Att. <- should auto correct to AT&T.
4.3 was a massive responsiveness boost to my 3GS. The 4.x update caused occasional but serious lag when doing anything on the touchscreen, including swiping to unlock, entering in the PIN, scrolling/zooming in Safari, etc. Some app launch times were sometimes horrendous too; even the System Prefs could take 5 seconds to come up.
This was almost completely eliminated in 4.3 even with most of the system RAM used, with no noticeable new problems in other areas. Don’t know what Apple did to optimize the code, but it’s almost as responsive now as it was with the 3.x system.
Hopefully this will also fix the widely reported iPhone battery drain problem, and the inability to completely shut down the iPad 1 while using its wall charger. (Both problems experienced here.)
Yeah I noticed that too. In less than a day… Frustrating.
What WiFi issues – mine has been rock solid from day one – maybe it is your router?
My face transplant looks different under 4.3. What gives?
Fix battery drain, please.
Battery drain? You sure you’re not leaving it plugged in to your Mac while it’s sleeping or off? Battery had been outstanding with iOS 4.3 with iP4.
The only glitch I see is the memory leak as transitioning between apps has hiccups or delays. Slightly slower loaf times on core apps because of the leak. Update will address this and it’s back to speed again.
Huh? What has that got to do with battery drain. I leave my iPhone 4 plugged in all night and as often as possible at other times to avoid draining the battery which has a 400 full recharge cycle before it is reduced to 80% capacity.
I have markedly faster battery drain since updating to 4.3 from 4.2.1. I’d estimate in the area of 50% faster battery drain which is huge. And yes, I’ve rebooted the phone – everything short of restoring it.
iOS 4.3, mileage will vary.
Hopefully it will fix random app crashing and my phone dying (can only be turned back on by hard reset)
Jubei, what does leaving it plugged into your mac do? I often do this while at my desk? Bad idea?
Check the manual. It’s ok to always leave it plugged into your Mac or laptop as long as they are on. If you shut down or sleep and left the iP4 plugged to it USB, it will drain it’s battery dead very quickly.
Ahhh… My Mac is always on and it’s the AC adapter in the bedroom. Good to know though. Thanks.
But still doesn’t explain my 4.3 battery drain.., 🙁
Anyone have ANY idea when the Verizon iPhone iOS will be updated? I’ve seen NO mention of this anywhere.
What!!??? No Verizon love?? C’mon.
How long did it take for them to come out with 4.2.1 for the iPad? It seemed like forever. I think it will seem the same for Verizon. I don’t know why, beggars can’t be choosers.
I have been experiencing the quirky graphics bug that was in ios 4.3 for my ipod touch 4g. I have had this lil guy for less than a month and of course updated the software immediately… prior to the update it worked like a charm. I had bought this to replace a unit that was stolen last summer and was so excited that once I synced with itunes I had my ol pal back with folders and pages intact just as I had organized them. that was magic!
But since updating software I get these glitchy (would be cool if that was the design, kinda reminds me of old Raygun magazine and that design aesthetics from the 90’s) graphical flaws. usually on the sign in pane and randomly at the wifi icon. I have heard of this problem (finally) from TAUW and Engadget because otherwise I was thinking I was losing my mind.
Hoping that Apple quietly fixes this bug soon. Makes me nervous to see all that glithy-ness on my new baby plus it makes some screen animations jerky.
anyone else having this issue?
Yep. Jerky screen anations since updating to 4.3.
iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3. All notifications off.
Two hours of phone conversation (no telecon;
no simultaneous use of other apps):
Battery drained from 100% to 40%.
Not good.
That’s funny.
I remember when the word “imminent” used to mean “imminent”.
anyone having trouble streaming video from the iPhone 4 to apple tv. YouTube works but video transferred to iphone at 1080p won’t play.
I’m fairly certain there is no such thing as a “memory hang”
maybe they meant “memory leak” or possibly a “buffer overflow”?
Per 4.3 battery drain problems on iphone 4: I was experiencing the same sudden battery drain problem too. In Under restrictions I disabled Ping and Game Center and battery life returned to pretty much normal. Read about it at: http://www.cultofmac.com/battery-complaints-mount-after-ios-4-3-update/87016
How about fixing reboot issue during calls in iphone 3gs 32gb?
Apple a doing nothin for dat!!!!!!
