“Citing a ‘confident’ source, German site Macerkopf.de reported Tuesday that Apple will hold a press event in early April at the company’s Cupertino, Calif., campus to show off forthcoming features in its iOS 5 operating system,” Chris Barylick reports for O’Grady’s PowerPage.
Barylick reports, “The rumored inclusion of changes in its MobileMe services in the annual event would be new, and could signal that anticipated changes to the cloud-based service will be heavily integrated into the next major release of Apple’s mobile operating system for the iPhone and iPad.”

A lot of people would like iOS 5 to feature a better notification system.
It’d be cool but it’d more pleasant for me to see a new GUI. The existing one is aging.
I’ve been thinking about using my tax return to finally spring for an iPhone 4, but now I think I may wait a bit. 😉
Yes! iOS 5 is upon us!
Hopefully iPads get the update in June rather than that brutally long wait like last year. And if there are some new features and apps that run best on iPad 2, that would definitely push me to upgrade.
Nope. Not going to happen until WWDC in June, just as it has for the preceding 3 years.
I could actually seeing them doing this – a beta release in April with the final version at WWDC. I think that when they release iPhone 5 in June they will want it to be running iOS 5 out of the box.
Wrong. iOS4 was announced in April of 2010.
I’m hoping to see AirPrint for all printers and a way to view animated GIF’s in full screen when sent by text – not just in the threaded text screen.
AirPrint via any printer on a Mac on a
shared network is possible TODAY with AirPrint Activator. It’s free or you can donate at netputing.com. There is even a version for windows apparently. (google it)
After I downloaded and install the app on my Mac, I just had to uninstall an reinstall the printers. Now when my iOS devices share the network with my Mac, they see the available printers and voila!
The Lion version is “in the works” accordin to their website.
I know, but I still think/hope Apple will support it natively in iOS 5.
Still waiting for that entertainment news blocker.
Huh?
apple really needs to upgrade the email system…this is where blackberry beats the iphone.
Having never used BB, what kind of stuff are we missing out on? For real. Not being sarcastic.
For example to flag mails, so that important messages would be easy to find until I arrive to desktop.
I recently received a renewal notice for MobileMe. Decisions, decisions…
Renew. It’s two bucks a week. And Apple will see you right.
