“Apple has aggressive plans for more stores in China this year — and now the South China Morning Post is reporting that the first of two planned Hong Kong stores will open before the end of the year,” MacNN reports.
“The first store is described as a 15,000 square-foot store in the IFC Mall in Central, while the second store will be an even larger 20,000 square feet in Hysan Place in Causeway Bay, which is expected to open in the third quarter of 2012, according to the paper,” MacNN reports. “The two stores together are expected to cost Apple more than $40 million to build, but are just part of an overall plan to erect a total of 20 new stores in the country over the course of 2011.”
MacNN reports, “Currently, the company has a total of four stores open in China — two in Shanghai, and two in Beijing.”

Apple, where is your Apple store in India? You know, the country with the second largest population, lots of tech savvy people, and a growing middle class?

Yowzah!!
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing
They were funky China men from funky Chinatown
They were chopping them up and they were chopping them down
It’s an ancient Chineese art and everybody knew their part
From a feint into a slip, and kicking from the hip
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing
There was funky Billy Chin and little Sammy Chung
He said here comes the big boss, lets get it on
We took a bow and made a stand, started swinging with the hand
The sudden motion made me skip now we’re into a brand knew trip
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they did it with expert timing
(repeat)..make sure you have expert timing
Kung-fu fighting, had to be fast as lightning
Finally, it comes to Hong Kong!
AT LONG FxxKING LAST!!! I’ve asked the General Manager of Apple HK about this when he demo’d 10.5 Leopard, and I’m so glad that they finally decided to go for it.
No disrepect to the resellers who have been marvellous at holding the forte for Apple fans, but there’s just something really intangibly pleasant about an official Apple retail store.
About F^&*ing time.
Geez there are macbooks everywhere and the service centres are all swindlers ….
All those Apple retailers are going to close shop. They had better start to find things to do immediately.
For those who have never been to Hong Kong… you won’t be able to imagine how crowded these Apple stores are going to be. StuffIt won’t cut it.
