“Apple and News Corp. have made a joint decision to push back next week’s planned launch, according to sources familiar with the companies’ plans,” Kafka reports. “The delay is supposed to give Apple time to tweak its new subscription service for publications sold through its iTunes platform.”

Are you kidding? Of course not. I know all the major media outlets in the US are controlled by a handful of corporations.
Murdoch’s media empire works hand-in-hand with the Republican party – definitely NOT “fair and balanced.”
Damn, now I have to wait to not get it.
Actually I intend to give it a (real) fair and balanced assessment. But considering they way NewsCorp has trashed the once trustworthy WSJ, I don’t expect they discovered responsible journalism while making “The Daily.”
But still, better to be controlled by a corporation than by the government themselves.

It’s either about scary local crime — feel the fear — or bipartisan extreme of opinions rather than facts — feel the bias — what can be done to fix it?
Certainly nothing from Apple, especially if the rumors that they’ve banned the likes of The Economist from distributing their electronic edition for free to their subscribers.
Small, non-Union companies are still the backbone of America. They do it with little support from lobbyists or government. Large organizations, be they corporations, unions, political parties, tea parties, religious groups, etc., have hijacked our government.
Apple, with minimal involvement in trying to control the government, has retained my respect.
