10 things to expect from Apple in 2011

“There’s every chance Steve Jobs will at some point pull the tech industry equivalent of a rabbit out of a hat in 2011, unleashing an amazing gadget no-one had thought of but that everyone will want (or, if they’re a competitor, want to copy),” Craig Grannell reports for TechRadar UK. “However, through existing Apple announcements, the company’s previous form and some cunning and incisive guesswork, we can be pretty sure we’ll see the following ten things from the Cupertino giant over the coming months.”

10 things to expect from Apple in 2011:
1. Mac App Store
2. iPad 2
3. iOS magazine rack
4. iPhone 5
5. Mac OS X 10.7 Lion
6. Increased focus on iOS after Lion’s release
7. Opening up AirPlay
8. Improvements to MobileMe
9. iTunes music streaming service
10. Doomsayers rebuffed

  1. 10 Things Everyone Already Expects From Apple, but we need some hits to here’s an article anyway:
    1. Mac App Store (duh, already annouced)
    2. iPad 2 (really? maybe they’ll keep the current iPad for 2 years)
    3. iOS magazine rack (ok)
    4. iPhone 5 (That’s a tough one)
    5. Mac OS X 10.7 Lion (Already announced for summer, nice try)
    6. Increased focus on iOS after Lion’s release (Wow, nice work)
    7. Opening up AirPlay (Can’t go anywhere but more open)
    8. Improvements to MobileMe (Steve Jobs email already confirmed)
    9. iTunes music streaming service (ok)
    10. Doomsayers rebuffed (That’s a constant when dealing with Apple)

    Neeeexxxxttttt….

  2. yeah they are pretty much all slam dunks, and jeebus from that standpoint it looks like Apple is gonna continue to dominate the world. Crazy thing is that you gotta factor in some actual surprises that Apple is sure to have up its sleave. Ouch, I wouldn’t wanna be a competitor.

I think using that name would make a more positive outlook on your comments in life.
Try to remember alot of people do t read this on a daily basis and it’s nice to have a breakdown of things. Thank you for posting 10 things MDN

  4. While the article is, in fact, accurate in that these are 10 things to expect from Apple next year…it just seems like it didn’t take much journalistic or analystic (is that a word?) talent to come up with the content.

Yes, to the layperson, these 10 items might be newsworthy. But, for the most part, everybody on MDN is fully aware of the majority of these predictions.

    Didn’t stop me from reading ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  5. Odd as it might be to some, there are many people in the world who do not keep track of the latest sneeze from Mr. Jobs. (bless you)
    ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”LOL” style=”border:0;” />

It’s a round up of information that is of use to many people.

  6. Yep, those are all in the cards. I’ll add to the list of obvious items:

SSD replace hard drives on everything but the Mac Pro

Optical drives remain as legacy hardware options for 2 or 3 yrs at the most

Apple TV joins the iOS app world and becomes a cloud based gaming platform

App store for Mac kick starts a golden age of Mac Gaming

Office for Mac sales fall in 2011

and the most obvious prediction for 2011……..

Neither Dvorak or Paul Whatshisname will “get” the iPad.

  7. Yeah, I don’t see the iPhone 5 before 2012 personally… I think the 2011 version will be a slight revision, like the 3g and 3gs versions.

I don’t see a completely new iPad either – too much invested in cases and so forth IMO – but again slight revisions.

everyone is so hungry for Apple to lead the charge, they create news to satisfy themselves LOL. pretty amazing.

  8. If you can’t proofread your post with even a third-grade skill level, why should anyone lend credence to anything you have to say? (For “say,” read “vomit.”) “Stucks”?

Morons with a keyboard. The world’s true nightmare.

  9. Here are my predictions:
    1. aTV getting apps, and a few more networks signing up.
    2. Minor iPhone revision, maybe 64 gb, and software update
    3. The obivous Mac updates.
That’s really IMO what’s gonna happen

  10. I think this article was ridiculous. If they read this they’ve obviously reading MDN for a while? And theyve posted many articles about these but in more finer in detail and if this is news to you, your abit of an idiot. And iPhone 5 does not have the same ring to it as 4 or 3GS so I don’t think they’ll call it that. iPhone 4S perhaps?
