Apple releases AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule Firmware Update 7.5.2

Apple has released AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule Firmware Update 7.5.2 which includes the following:

• General fixes to Wi-Fi base station stability
• Fixes some issues with AirPlay streaming
• General fixes with USB interoperability including connection to external storage devices
• Fixes some issues with NAT port mapping settings
• Disables TKIP security with 802.11n rates per the Wi-Fi Alliance specifications

It is recommended that AirPort Utility 5.5.2 or later be installed before updating to Firmware version 7.5.2.

To download and update the firmware, run Airport Utility 5.5.2, choose your Airport device, and click “Update Firmware.”

  1. Surprising to get a firmware update at this point for my AirPort Extreme, the oldest square model with 802.11n.

    That’s interesting, because my older model DID have some issues connecting to a particular external USB drive that I have. It’s an (old) Mac mini -sized drive that also fits perfectly under the AEBS, so was disappointed when it previously did not work reliably. I’ll have to give it another try when I have some time.

    Me too, I have the 1st Square Version f the 802.11n Base Station.

    Never would’ve thought this far down the road it would still get updates. Damn thing has lasted longer than I ever thought. About 5 years
