RUMOR: Apple to launch Mac App Store in January 2011

ZAGG Deal!“Despite published reports to the contrary, Apple’s Mac App Store will launch in January 2011,” Jim Dalrymple reports for The Loop.

“Reports earlier this week claimed Apple would launch the Mac App Store on December 13, ahead of the holiday shopping season,” Dalrymple reports. “However, according to my sources, Apple will launch the store in the new year.”

Dalrymple reports, “Given… Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ commitment to launch the store within 90-days [of October 20, 2010], we should see the Mac App Store sometime on or before the third week of January.”

  1. I hope this means we can buy iWork apps and iLife apps in future as stand alone items. I never use GarageBand, don’t really need Keynote either, probably will stop using iWeb because its web pages run very slow on Windows systems.
