RedEye app moves channel-surfing from TV screen to your iPad

ThinkFlood, maker of RedEye universal remote control products compatible with iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Web browsers, today announced availability of their RedEye application with full-screen capabilities for iPad.

“This version is exciting because we really use the iPad’s full high-resolution screen,” said Matt Eagar, ThinkFlood founder and president, in the press release. “RedEye customers with iPads may now use RedEye in a way that works best for them.”

RedEye for iPad automatically orients to whatever layout they find most comfortable — portrait or landscape.

ThinkFlood customers in the U.S. and Canada can view the RedEye’s integrated channel guide alongside their current activity — taking full advantage of the iPad’s larger screen and higher resolution. Customers need no longer endure the disruption of a channel guide blocking their TV program. The guide includes information and program descriptions with details for all broadcast, cable networks and local stations.

“The channel guide is a feature our customers really seem to love,” says Eagar. “Now that we make use of the entire iPad screen, our customers can preview what’s on without having to navigate away from the remote control buttons to do so.”

Along with RedEye hardware that adds infrared capability to the iPad, the RedEye application allows ThinkFlood’s customers to control thousands of devices, from TVs and cable boxes to lighting systems and air conditioners along with thousands of other devices that use infrared signals.
