For every ten iPhones I see in my travels around Brisbane, Australia every day, I see maybe two other phones.
If I’m on a bus and there’s a passenger on the phone, usually it will have an Apple logo. If someone is listening to music, most times it will be white ear buds connected to an Apple logo and most of those iPhones.
Out of curiosity when walking down the Queen Street Mall (central city high street pedestrian mall) one busy day, I started counting all the iPhones I could see and estimate penetration. The answer quickly came: almost everyone has one.
And I hear people gushing about their love for their iPhone all the time and watch as people are wowed and captivated by their friend’s gushing.
Actually its starting to get a bit freaky. I feel like I’m in that episode of Dr Who! Or perhaps Invasion of the Pod People!! There’s a touch of Star Trek too with the growing number of iPads.
I wish Apple would bring some fun and variety back into phones, like they did with the original iMacs.

Stuart, I see a similar thing in Perth. I’m surprised that the numbers reported for iPhone aren’t higher.
