FileMaker, Inc. has announced the Bento 3 Event Planner, a customized set of six new templates that make it easy and fun for Mac users to organize event details all in one place.
The Bento 3 Event Planner includes a free 30-day trial of the popular Bento 3 for Mac personal database, plus six professionally designed, ready-to-use templates including Events, Tasks, Expenses & Invoices, Locations & Venues, Contacts, and Vendors. The Bento 3 Event Planner is available today by free download from the Bento Template Exchange.
All six templates in the Bento 3 Event Planner are linked together, allowing information to flow from one template to the next, without the need for repetitive data entry. To organize events on the go, the new Bento 3 Event Planner lets customers synchronize information between their Mac and Apple iPad or iPhone devices running either Bento for iPhone or Bento for iPad, both sold separately.

Question: Does S.Jobs use Bento?

I wouldn’t think so. Bento is a very simple, basic, non-relational consumer oriented database. Most likely Jobs uses Filemaker Pro, which is a relational database, but still very easy to use, unlike Access.
FileMaker has been a winner for a long time …… Bento works for most individuals whereas companies such as ours needs the relational part of FileMaker but Bento would work for the majority of small biz as most use their Excel and Word as databases …
Event Planner is just another example of a temple coming from the Bento Community …… Bento has a ton of solutions that most small businesses, Ma and Pa businesses can and will use!
Bento is relational. I have probably 5 related tables in just one library alone.
There are people who repeat that Bento is “simple” because its not Filemaker, which, as simple as some things in it can be, has a steep and long learning curve. If you are fluent in Bento and leverage all its features, its quite capable and you can make an attractive looking, relational database in it far faster than in Filemaker. I run my law office on it, including using the networking features, and its by far the best $50 I ever spent. It’s so laughably easy to make databases that it has replaced numerous specialized pieces of software. My whole office runs on Bento, a word processor, iCal, Mail, scanner with Preview, Safari, and Filemaker (for certain jobs that need to be automated).
