  1. both the Nintendo DSI and Sony PSP business models that depended on high priced games are dead, killed by low priced iOS games (joined now by Android et al). they’ll keep adding bells and whistles to their portable hardware to try to keep up, but their era is over. i guess mr. nintendo finally noticed something is happening …

and once Apple TV brings these iOS games to your big screen TV too …

  2. @DogGone – last week Jobs said 25 million iOS devices were sold. Apple announced 14 million iPhone and 4 million iPad sales, so the other 7 million had to be iPod touches. Apple announced 9 million total iPod sales, so all but 2 million were the iPod touch. the touch has taken over the iPod line.

  4. Above: ‘I am amazed that Microsoft actually sells any xboxs.’

I believe they only sell them to would be terrorists. As I can’t see any normal human beings wanting to be quite so murderous as MSFT games require you to be..

  6. nintendo are also infamous for selling underpowered hardware and milking it until the pips squeak

look at the wii , a gamecube double clocked with an ir controller , or the new 3ds , mediocre hardware at best

sadly for them apple will always be ahead of the game as they update their ios devices every year

all the iPad needs is a dual core cpu and a ram upgrade to destroy everything , yes even the ps3 and 360

i can see that coming REAL soon too !

Yes, indeed. If Nintendo were smart, they’d start porting some of their bestsellers to iOS, whatever they may be.

Yes, the self-proclaimed “hard-core gamers” will howl about the “lack of real buttons”, but those kiddies need to de-ostrich-ify and check out today’s gaming reality. D-Pads and such are going the way of the typewriter.

  12. Now this is the company Apple should buy. They are culturally close, with a great emphasis on innovation, and they both have similar histories: both once dominated their industries, then nearly lost it all, and are now back on top.
