Obama will meet with Apple CEO Steve Jobs today to discuss economy, says official

Apple Online Store“President Barack Obama and Apple Inc. Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs will meet today while the president is in the San Francisco area for a political event, an administration official said,” Julianna Goldman reports for Bloomberg. “Obama and Jobs will discuss the economy and technology issues, the official said on condition of anonymity.”

“The administration official gave no specifics of the agenda for Obama’s meeting with Jobs,” Goldman reports.

“Jobs has supported Democratic candidates and organizations in the past,” Goldman reports. “He donated $50,000 to the DNC in 2000 and $26,700 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006, according to Federal Election Commission records. Jobs also contributed $1,000 to former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel when Emanuel was running for the U.S. House in 2004.”

  1. Jobs: I got 50 Billion in da bank! U broke, MuddaF….er

Seriously?!!!… This band needs to do a skit on what they think would go on in such a meeting.

But considering Obama doesn’t listen to things that go against his grain, it is a waste of time… So before this posts goes postal with other comments. might I suggest a little Mac – PC humor… thanks to TUAW.

This one has adult language rap “sort of” but interesting…

This one is the ULTIMATE in the “I’m a Mac” genre…

And the BEST for LAST… The battle between the iPhone and iPad to the tune of MJ’s “Beat It”. Well choreographed… loved it!

Viewed them all yet? Yes… Okay, go back to your MDN political rants

  3. Seriously, what is Jobs going to tell Obama about the economy? From where he’s standing everything is great!

Furthermore, Obama knows nothing about the economy. This is nothing more than a photo op…

  5. “The economy.” LMAO yeah RIGHT!

Obama will beg Steve Jobs to be his running mate in 2012. He’ll dump Biden and move him to Secretary of State after Hillary steps down to challenge him for the Democratic nomination.

Obama-Jobs 2012. It’s his only chance for re-election. Shit, the ticket is practically its own slogan since employment is what 2012 will be all about!

  7. I’m an avid convert from pc to the Mac. I own a Macbook Pro, an iPhone 4, and a midrange 3G iPad, so I’ve put my money behind what I consider to be a superior product, but I must say that although a “walled garden” approach is beautiful on a computing device, it is disturbingly worrisome & alarming when that approach is entrenching itself in our governmental process. I would rather have limited government, a free press, and close adherence to our founding documents. I do not support or agree with Steve Jobs politics, and especially his support of the current occupant of the White House.

    I prey the “G O V E R M E N T” doesn’t get into the garden…
Less Government is better Government… Much better…

  11. We have the smartest brains in the world running this country and this is what we get. Wish we had someone that could do some magic, like maybe a witch?

Actually, if this is what we get with the smartest people then I am ready to let the dumbest people run the show. Will they do any worse? Really?

Actually, a politician that promises not to pass any new bills will get my vote. They should all stay home.

Yea, I know. A little off topic but what the hey? On topic: Obama is incapable of learning anything, from SJ or anyone else, because he aint humble.

  13. Steve will tell Obama that the secret is to become the Innovation President. Innovate your way out of the recession. Don’t cut spending, but spend it on the right things, things that have a high return on investment. Steve is a Keynesian.

  15. Maybe he’ll tell the President to rehearse his “keynotes” until it is memorized, and not rely on his teleprompter for every appearance. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
