“US technology giant Apple is seeking approval to sell its iPad in South Korea, the telecommunications regulator said Tuesday, after the iPhone’s local popularity fanned interest in the tablet computer,” AFP reports.
“The Korea Communications Commission said in a statement it would make a decision within five days on the request by Apple’s Korean unit for technical approval,” AFP reports.
AFP reports, “A spokesman for KT Corp, local distributor of Apple’s iPhone, told Yonhap news agency it hopes to release the iPad in November once the certification is completed.”

Revolutionary? Magical? There are no words to truly describe the iPad. Unemployment is down. The homeless all have jobs. The world is at peace. Thanks apple!

iPad is perfect for the Korean market. People there are always on the move and they have a lot of downtime in the subway trains. Fastest internet connections in the world as well. I believe the *average* speed is 29mbps, which is pretty amazing.

@ Alexhan2000. I agree with what you say but the major downside is despite Koreas blazing fast internet connects. They are mostly “wired” connect. There are very few usable wifi hotspots in Korea.
@Random & Fandango: Since there is a Kimchi shortage its no surprise and not much of a stretch to say “you you ipad more than kimchi” haha
Korea should have had the ipad a long time ago. but certain folks are dragging their feet on purpose.
