Microsoft to add copy-paste to Windows Phone ‘07 early next year; not as elegant as Apple’s iOS

“Just after Steve Ballmer finished up on stage, I cornered some of the development team members and got a look at the copy and paste features that Microsoft said will come early next year to Windows Phone 7,” Ina Fried reports for CNET.

“Copy and paste will work by letting users click on a particular word and then expand or contract their text selection from there. A separate paste icon will appear allowing users to paste text, though the look is not yet final,” Fried reports. “It seemed to work well, if not quite as elegantly as what Apple has done on the iPhone.”

  1. The strategic move by Google into the low cost derivative device manufacturer space was brilliantly disruptive. MSFT markets to manufacturers, not the public, and the mobile device marketplace is in a fabulous state thanks to the zero cost android as THE competitor to winmo7.
