Zaharov-Reutt reports, “Although Microsoft has successfully sold what must now be millions of Windows-powered Tablet PCs over nearly the last decade, Apple has sold millions of its iPads too, in just months – and the iPad hasn’t even been on sale for a year as yet.”
MacDailyNews Take: Define “successfully.” Windows-powered Tablet PC sales have always been, to be charitable, anemic. A few health professionals used to lug them around before they got their iPads.
Zaharov-Reutt reports, “So, it’s always interesting to read about people’s thoughts on the iPad as a business tablet, and other ‘business tablets’ that presumably will or could wipe the iPad away, but such articles are usually disappointing… While there has indeed been a “flurry of recent activity” in the exploding tablet market, it’s been more a flurry of ‘pre-launch’ and ‘preview’ activity than actual in-store retail units anyone can buy. Most of the real “flurry” has been the stampede of people heading to Apple stores or resellers to buy an iPad.”

Define “successfully”? Okay. It means absolutely nothing.
Microsoft doesn’t actually sell tablet computers, but aside from that, “Although Microsoft has successfully sold…” means the exact same thing as “Although Microsoft has sold…”They certainly couldn’t unsuccessfully sell them.
You can’t unsuccessfully do anything, because if you were unsuccessful, you didn’t do it, and if you did it, you were successful.

Most people are unaware how deep Apple has implemented security and networking into the iPad. It’s a corporate IT admin guy’s wet dream!

This is a great article on why the iPad is doing well. They do have business software. Some of the first third party apps were for the medical business. Where are the other tablets now? Nowhere. A good affordable tablet has been a want / need for years, the iPad has proved it. It is hard to get rid of the first person who has their foot in the door. MS with desktops; BB with smart phones; now Apple with the tablet. Next year we will have four OS’s attacking each other to be #2. Apple has won.
