  1. Got my shipping notice yesterday. They are Shipping it FED EX directly from Shenzhen China, which I was surprised at. I would have expected it to at least be shipped from a sorting facility in the US, so it leads me to believe that they had production problems.

No production problems, this is how all Apple products are shipped. My original AppleTV shipped the same way when it was released, from Shenzen to Anchorage, etc. I’m sure that the orders have been more than expected. But that doesn’t mean that it a huge success, it just means they didn’t start making enough.

  5. Well I’ll be buying on too. But I’ll wait till the rush dies down. I’ve been put off in the past bit the cost and utility of the apple tv. But now that the price is lower and Netflix is available it will make the perfect addition to the tv in the bedroom.

  7. Mine is in Anchorage too and I am on the east cost (Near Philly). Originally when it shipped, it said delivery tomorrow. Now it says 10/5. Ordered it after the keynote. Not sure what happened. Says it is shipping “International Economy Distribution”.

  9. My wife was going to get me one for my birthday, but the Apple Store employee suggested she wait until after Nov. 1. Don’t know why, but I’ll be getting mine in early November. Just have to figure out how to hook it to my TV that only has 2 HDMI ports which are already taken up by DirecTV and Blu-Ray.
