  1. BridgeCo worked with Apple on its new AirPlay, where anyone with an iPod, iPhone, or iPad will be able to walk around his or her home and wirelessly send music from iTunes to receivers made by Denon, iHome Audio, Marantz, JBL, and Bowers & Wilkens. Unlike past products which did something similar, this is not a third-party reverse engineering workaround which has to be reworked every time Apple has a software update.

  2. This news is huge if you take it as looking at the roadmap where iOS devices are headed. I believe that next year, or the year after that Apple will eliminate the Dock Connector from their products. Think of it, slowly consumers will transition anyway to streaming their content via AirPlay and we will get used to not using the Dock Connector to these drives. By that time the nano will be running iOS eventually eliminating the HD based IPod classic, leaving just the shuffle which doesn’t have a Dock Connector anyway.

  3. It’s interesting that this is home-only for now. I wonder if a different partner will offer wifi car connectivity, or maybe Apple sees cars more as requiring wired connections (for recharging as well as music playing).
