“This doesn’t allow us to know what materials Apple will use, but we can have a good idea of the shape of the future device,” Machmeter reports. “It looks like the back is rounded, unlike the one of the new iPhone, and of course, there is a camera and a flash.”
Machmeter reports, “This source is very reliable since it is already thanks to it that we were able to predict the camera on the iPod [nano]i last year.”

Cases for the 3rd Gen touch also showed a camera hole.
Sounds like the new iPod Touch will just be the model they should have released last year. Hopefully the innards will be updated for speed and memory capacity. Afterall, why make a kick-ass iPod that might compete with the iPad, iPhone or the mystic 7″ iPad? Right?
Um…. that “LED Flash” looks pretty much like the microphone hole from the 3rd Gen prototype…. And didn’t Steve just say that they aren’t showing case makers anything anymore?
Apple is about to take the low end camcorder market. iOS4 devices are multi-purposed, the video is easily edited, mixed and shared. Name me one other camcorder that can do everything that Apple lets you do on the iOS 4 in the iPhone. No big deal to have those same video features in the next iPod touch. I expect them to be there. Didn’t you?
If Apple makes a high end camcorder, they can take the entire camcorder market in less than a year!
I suspect that the next iPod touch will look more like a small iPad than it will an iPhone 4. The “smaller iPad” will likely be described as a large iPod touch.

While at a TJMaxx looking for a cheap ipod touch cover for my 2nd gen, I came across what was advertised as a 3G iPod Touch (aka “iTouch” – mornons) which included a camera slot in the middle upper portion of the case.
I thought that was interesting.

I wonder why the back is still rounded when it’s not the case for iPhone 4. They have to use two different manufacturing methods.
it seems to usually be the case 😀 that new casedesigns are those that leak new iPod models. Or at least sometimes. They didnt get it right when it was time for iPod Touch G3. I think and hope that iPod Touch G4 inherits more than just camera from iPhone G4.
