“Apple’s (AAPL) retail store revenue increased 72.8 percent year over year to $2.58 billion in the June quarter,” John Paczkowski reports for AllThingsD.

“That means, according to Needham analyst Charlie Wolf, that Apple Store revenue for that period was greater than the company’s total quarterly revenue from the second quarter of fiscal 1996 through the fourth quarter of fiscal 2004,” Paczkowski reports.
“The engine driving those rising revenues? The iPad, whose launch generated a 38.7 percent increase in visitors per store, a 52.9 percent increase in same-store revenues, and a stunning 106.3 percent increase in non-Mac revenues,” Paczkowski reports.

IPad is only starting- you ain’t seen nothing yet!
Does anyone use Invisible Shield products on their iPhones, iPods or iPads? Are they worth it or junk?
@silverhawk
I’ve had one on my iPhone 3G for nearly two years now and swear by it, with a couple of caveats:
It’s prone to fraying around the edges and collecting dust, so I’d trim the little tabs off before you apply it.
It yellows after a while, which doesn’t look so great on a white iPhone (still looks fine on my black one).

If your going to use this type of product, the best of the lot are the crystal film set by: power support- http://www.powersupportusa.com.
You’ll almost certainly waste the first one for lack of precission placement. Apple used to sell ’em. I have not put one on the new iphone4 yet because I though it might detract from the retina clarity which I love.
Silverhawk:
I used the crystal film set for all previous models of iPhone – it had the best clarity and pliability.
Before the monkees start jumping on the typo: You’re…
Think about that for a moment. The June quarter ALONE!!!! compared to 1996 thru 2004… That’s 7 YEARS!!! ASTONISHING TO SAY THE LEAST! What do the naysayers have to say about this computer toy maker now….? I don’t hear much from the Apple bashers any more…. I wonder why? The best has yet to come.
Version #1 = iPad on April 3, 2010

iJah420 –
I still sometimes hear things like, “Oh, you have a Mac. Well, I guess someone has to.” There is still a perception, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that only a few fanboys buy Macs. But every time I walk into a coffee shop now, it’s at least 50% Apple laptops I see. And anyone who’s been to an Apple store knows the places are jammed day and night. It’s hard to get service despite there being about twenty employees on hand. Add to that the fact that they surpassed Microsoft in market cap. So I don’t get why some people won’t accept the evidence and admit that Apple is selling like crazy and makes great computers.
No no no, Gateway already tried that retail thing, it doesn’t work.
Not surprising that this jump is directly related to the iPad. This truly is a magical tool and once you actually get your hands on, especially in an Apple store, people fall in love with it.
There’s just something so compelling about it. I don’t actually need my iPad, but I love it. My wife and I fight over ours and our time in front of a television has dropped like a stone. Just finished my first eBook and I’m shaking my head. Every time I pick this thing up I can spend hours on it … and that’s a little scary!
And yes I’m typing this on my iPad.
@silverhawk
We put one on our iPad. It actually made the iPad easier to handle for me since it was less slippery. I would buy the shield again for that reason alone.
