Apple email to customers confirms iPhone 4 shipments are on the way

Invisible Shield for Apple iPhone 4!“Apple has notified customers who were among the first to preorder an iPhone 4 that they can expect to receive the device by June 24, which is the official on-sale date for iPhone 4 in the U.S.,” Paul McDougall reports for InformationWeek. “The company sent out official Shipment Notification e-mails, along with Federal Express tracking information, to those customers over the weekend, according to numerous online reports.”

MacDailyNews Take: We can confirm that we have received our iPhone 4 shipment notification emails from Apple! Have you?

“‘We are pleased to inform you that your iPhone 4 has shipped,’ the e-mail states. ‘Please check below for your confirmed delivery date. If you ordered more than one item, they may ship separately,’ it continued,” McDougall reports. “Fedex tracking documents show that the devices are being shipped directly from a facility in Lantau Island, Hong Kong.”

  1. ordering mine through AT&T;, not Apple. Their order status website has a ship date of 6/20 and a tracking number, but the tracking number doesn’t show anything yet.

    Patience is wearing thin.

  2. I ordered from AT&T;, and my order now shows as SHIPPED on 6/18. Woo hoo! I did not receive any kind of shipment email though. The FedEx tracking number still shows no status, but I have a number. I wonder if the shipments from AT&T;will require a signature if I am not there like all the shipments from Apple do. If so, is there a way to pre-sign like you can on Apple’s order status page?

  3. I ordered mine for pick up at a retail store (Miami Dadeland). Now, I guess I would not get a tracking number, but I wish they’d let me know that my 32 GB is safely and patiently waiting for me on Thursday. 

  4. After trying all day, I got my order in I think around 11:30- apparently way too late for delivery on the 24th.
But, um… they’re even running too low on bumpers to deliver those by the 24th? Fer real?
    Apparently so:

  5. Well, I ordered mine at 11:49 AM PST from AT&T;’s website. My order didn’t get acknowledged until the next day, so I thought for sure I would (at the very earliest) be one of those waiting until July 5.

However, when I went to AT&T;’s website this morning to check my order status, said status changed from ‘In Progress’ to ‘Shipped 6/21’ with a Fed Ex tracking number.

Now, I am not trying to get too excited as many hours later, the Fed Ex website is still not acknowledging said tracking number – and I have also not received an e-mail from AT&T;confirming shipment, nor has my bank had a hold put on it for the purchase price.

So, given AT&T;’s history, it is not impossible to think that this may be a false positive. Still with guarded optimism, I keep my fingers crossed.

  6. I just received another email stating that my phone will be delivered on the 23rd:

    Dear Apple Store Customer,

You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.

This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.

In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at http://www.apple.com/orderstatus.

    Sincerely,

    The Apple Store Team
