Apple’s online store has moved expected ship dates for iPhone 4 pre-orders to July 14, 2010:
Orders completed yesterday still carry the expected shipping date of June 24 which means that 600,000 lucky souls will have iPhone 4 units for at least 20 days before anyone else who doesn’t stand in line outside Apple, AT&T, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Radio Shack stores. iPhone 4 will be available in the US, France, Germany, Japan and the UK on June 24. Happy camping and don’t forget to send us the photos!
If you were one of the 600,000 who got through yesterday, congrats! We’re already counting down the days until next Thursday’s FedEx delivery!
I think I’ll just walk into my local Apple Store on June 25 and pick one up, no lines to wait in. Just like the last two major iPhone releases.
My order through AT&T;site went without a hitch, this was after apple’s site choked and died repeatedly.

Once again, when the Apple detractors can’t find anything to complain about with the near-perfect iPhone 4, they will grasp at anything related to iPhone 4.

So stand in line on June 24th. If 600,000 iPhones were allocated for pre-orders, there are probably an additional 1,200,000 or more that are going to be in inventory world-wide on launch day. Lining up at an Apple Store is fun. Or wait a few weeks to get it delivered.
Was going to order from the Apple store on the 24th, but will wait until they get their heads out, don’t need the drama.

Delivery date June 24th. Guess I’l be staying home from work however UPS always makes me the last delivery of the day. Waaaaaaa

Well, I still can’t get an order to go through. After getting through all the screens, it says they can’t complete my account setup and refers me to an Apple Store where I can go wait in line, first come first served, no appointment, not even a “good luck.”

Clarification please. Define ‘completed’. I put in my
order at 11PM yesterday/delivery 1st week of July.
Got order acknowledgment at 2AM-3hrs later by
e-mail. So completed means date of e-mail
acknowledgment ???
My Radio Shack manager thinks he’ll be getting my White 32 next Wednesday. He’ll let me know Tuesday when he gets copy of the shipping manifest from corporate.

Hey MDN, I really wish you would get your facts straight. My order went in “yesterday” (6/15). I have a July 2 shipping date.
To mac daddy- you can change shipping address on apple.com just view your order and edit. I called apple and after 40 minute wait they said that it will ship to the changed address. Also I will say that I am the lucky one who gets an iPhone shipped on June 24th I was one of the very last ones they changed it to july ship date shortly after my pre order placement. I even called apple to make sure they were shipping it to me on the 24th and they said they were!
I’ll tell you one thing that is bullshit… forget all the “July 14, Aug 12th” whatever… what pisses me off is that they are still acting like people that stand in line on the 24th WITHOUT A PREORDER will have an opportunity of getting one… how is it that someone that has put no money down even has an opportunity to get one before someone that has paid in full (in my case of preordering with AT&T;). Tell those people to go home and do what the rest of us did, order online and wait for it to become available.
