Former Vice President and Apple Inc. Board of Directors member Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are separating after 40 years of marriage, according to multiple reports.
“According to an e-mailed statement obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday, the Gores said it was ‘a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration,'” Erik Schelzig reports for The Associated Press.
“Al Gore lost the 2000 presidential election to Republican George W. Bush. He has since campaigned worldwide to draw attention to climate change, which in 2007 led to a Nobel Peace Prize and an Oscar for the documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth,'” Schelzig reports.
MacDailyNews Note: “An Inconvenient Truth” was based on presentation created by Apple’s Keynote application.
Schelzig continues, “Tipper Gore is known for her advocacy on mental health issues. She became interested partly because her mother suffered from depression. The Gores have four adult children.”

This is news why?
Tipper? He hardly knew her.
Obviously Tipper’s mental health expertise wasn’t enough to help Al through his global warming follies….
“This is news why?”
Al is on Apples Board. Not sure why.
That’s a shame. Wow… 40 years and now you can’t make it work? No offense to the couple, but seriously, they don’t seem to be trying very hard.
Al heard Tipper listening to Rush.
Heh…
Uh, good for him. Run Al RUN!!!! After 20 years I’m free too ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
Tipper, after years of inner conflict finally kicked Al to the curb for deceiving millions of people about global warming.
Trending on Twitter: #algorepickuplines
Possible newspaper headline tomorrow: GLOBAL COOLING
Rumor has it that as part of the settlement, Tipper wants half of the Internet…
Let the bad jokes roll!
Wow MDN, someone notable actually uses Keynote? You must be so proud. Must we now make a disclaimer whenever an Apple product is used?
This post was created on a Macbook Pro.
Well… when your wife is too cold…
Many are less fortunate: they have horrible wifes and have to stay with it till the day they die!
Oooooo, this oughta be good for 5 pages.
An Inconvenient Marriage. LOL!
Tipper refused to buy those irritating “twisty” light bulbs.
An Inconvenient Truth was not a documentary. It was Science Fiction.
I am impressed by the number of posts that came so far without descending in to mindless political discourse. Also curious to find out who will be the (insert your own derogatory wort) to break the civility (anakinpedro came dangerously close, though)…
I hate Al Gore. Dumbass.
Any time a marriage ends, it’s not worth celebrating. Let’s see if posters can have a wee bit of restraint.
She must have been too hot for him and couldn’t take the “warming”
An “An Inconvenient Truth” was propaganda, specially when school children, a captive audience are forced to watch this complete and total work of fiction.
Time to separate Gore from Apple.
MacDailyNews,
Is this absolutely necessary to post? How about a little class? It reminds me of a post that you put up about a year ago that stated something along the lines of: “Airplane crashes, but MacBook survives the crash!”
Really MDN?
MDN…so predictable. When I heard the news I KNEW MDN would post “Mac related” news to “bait” Gore haters and flat earthers, I mean climate change deniers.
This is getting tiresome.
I don’t care for Al Gore at all. I believe he knows little about this planet, computers or the US Constitution. And yet that’s the world he played in these past 40 years. This guy is all smoke and mirrors.
That being said…
Al, I am sorry and I wish you and Tipper the best in these difficult times and with your family. 40 years is a long time!
WMD
Tipper, sorry for the way things are working out for you. I hope you and your kids are not pulled in as everyone start taking apart the many scams that Al Gore is involved in, including Global Warming and the Carbon Credit scams.
@MooLatte – after 40 years they realized life is short, what with global warming and all. Carpe Diem.
