MacDailyNews Take: Obviously, even after giving Johnny Damon the heave ho, The Yankees aren’t too smart. Comparing them to the Red Sox just isn’t fair. Perhaps the MLB itself, which has consistently made the very best major league sports apps for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, will intervene in order to get iPad admittance into the Stankee’s history-free bandbox.

What’s the risk? I’m guessing that they fear someone with a laptop may do a live feed of the game? Someone tell them to ban smartphones then, but keep the iPad since it has no camera.
“The security policies page notes that laptops …” THIS IS GREAT! Are they going to start counting the iPad as a computer? It talks to bluetooth keyboards and soon printers just like a personal computer. If a PC that is assembled into a cash register, scale, time clock, lab equipment, … is counted as a PC, so should the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch!
So, what is Apple’s PC REAL market share!

so the ipad is now a laptop, as mentioned already that will do wonders for apple’s share of the laptop market.

i will happily forgo the extra screen real estate to see the BETTER team. still can see all you “really need to see” on mlb iPhone app.

Pull out that iPad and you’d have all the rows behind you distracted.

What better way to fill out the game scorecard than with an iPad app and plus access to other goings on baseball while watching the game. It makes the experience that much more better.

Bet someone is already working on the realtime scorecard for the ipad – and camera feeds from cool perspectives – and food ordering and payment – and some other really cool apps for increasing fan enjoyment of games…
Roger Goodell has talked about the need to improve the fan experience at games for the nfl to avoid becoming at TV sport. Think about how cool it would be to have access to in game stats – and replays from a variety of angles – and highlights – and sideline audio and again being able to order a beverage or food from your seat…
Give this to season ticket holders – charge a fee for single games.
