“On Thursday Barclays Capital’s Ben Reitzes weighed in with a glowing report based on a recent meeting in California with three of Apple’s top brass,” Elmer-DeWitt reports. “‘In short,’ he concludes, ‘Apple seems to be clicking on all cylinders.'”

lmer-DeWitt reports, “Reitzes left the meeting with a notebook full of details about the company’s operations, some of them fresh.”
Among his findings:
• More new products to come. [And not just a new iPhone, either.]
• iPad demand outweighing supply
• Cheaper iPhones
• Squeezed by the Euro [Fall of the Euro against the dollar could hurt Apple’s gross margins, but, says Reitzes, “The impact of the Euro may only be worse than forecast by a little given Apple hedges its currency exposure 3-6 months out.”]

I get it. Apple is going to introduce a series of new cylindrical-shaped devices. A mouse instead of multi-touch apparently, since it involves a lot of clicking.

I put hedges around my summer cottage on Lake Erie for the same reason.
I understand that a week Euro would make it harder to sell Apple products in Europe, but wouldn’t a strong American dollar be overall beneficial to an American company like Apple?
Wouldn’t an American/Apple dollar build more stuff in China?
And they’re adding cylinders daily.
How about that 1 BILLION DOLLAR SERVER FARM that Apple finished up in NC. 400 percent more server storage and streaming than they had before. What market does Apple want to dominate with all that ability? Not 1 village idiot has asked them and yet you can see this facility from the street (or sky). Are they just afraid to ask about it?

The exterior of the building may be done, but I haven’t seen a report that the inside is done, outfitted, hooked up, fired up and ready to go.

They’ve been asked but have said very little. They’ve hired a bunch of engineers there though…so it’s most likely to work with their push into the cloud for
1. iAd (which is gonna be big)
2. streaming music
3. free Me.com for customer storage and device synching
4. possibly an enterprise level push coming up .
OH..and
SEARCH….
Don’t think for a minute that they believe Google is the beAll endAll for search technology…and with the animus in place now between them…iSearch is not far off

I had seen some blog posts that Apple was advertising for engineers, but didn’t know if the engineers would be hired for a late fall opening or to currently work on getting everything set up in anticipation of a future opening.
Would like to see 1-4 in action.
