So all the major films available to us ex-pats living in France (and the locals) are now available on iTunes. Guess I should be excited…if it wasn’t for the fact that the only version available is dubbed French. 2012 is in French , no surround, Avatar in french but at least 5.1.
Come on Apple, film studios, TV stations et al, get with it. It’s a flipping international world and people move, stuff the poxy rules (for no ones benefit really), cut down on Piracy and let us all have a fair share of the pie and make stuff available for everyone.
Quite a few french people enjoy seeing the film VO, that’s why they show them at the cinemas in VO.
How do I know? I run an english school in France (i’m not one of the teachers, you’ll be pleased to know).

It’s the movie-studios that fear Apple that are the ones who hobble your movie-experience on iTunes.
I can’t agree more on previous comments regarding multiple languages in the iTunes Store. I wouldn’t dream of watching a dubbed movie, that’s what subtitles are for, fer cryin out loud. Why can’t I just pick and choose whatever subtitle/language I would like in the iTS??? Why can’t I live in, say, Germany, and watch a Swedish sitcom with french subtitles? And BTW, I want to watch the show from yesterday, not from 6 weeks ago. Hell, It’s a piece of cake with 20secs of search with Xtorrent – plus another 35mins downloading the file. The joke is, even though I would rather pay for all this, no one has that kind of service.

yes, from Ireland we have the same problem. Chinese movies are listed as being in English; this for movies having not been dubbed into English, unless there was a special dubbing for Video as happened for VHS years ago. “The Lives of Others.” is listed as being in English. On the graphical interface it easy to see. If you switch to the Browser (text only) interface “The Lives…” is not visible in the “Foreign” section. There is also no indication of subtitles availibitlity.
Quite deceiving from Apple, very English-centric. Strange from a company that outsources from a Taiwanese company, Foxconn, to manufacture or assemble its products in Southern China.
I want to be able to rent/buy movies in Sweden? Why can’t all itune stores offer the same service? I am a Scot living and working in Sweden and very frustrated at not being able to use UK store or get what I want from swedish store I mean it is 2010…….. I want to live/work wherever and pick what tv channels from whichever country I want and have them beamed to my sat/tv you know customise my viewing and be offered the same options with itunes as other users in other countries WHY is this so difficult??
