Hopefully this isn’t a joke. If it’s real, talk about adding insult to injury.
P.S. – Bring your phone!
What a brilliant way to get some marketing exposure by Lufthansa. All for the cost of one ad and a plane ticket.
If it’s legit, I say take ’em up on their offer. German beer is THE best.
That is a classy move Lufthansa, a totally support that. Incidentally, my trip to Europe this summer I just booked on Lufthansa, and am now proud of that… Now, if we could only convince airlines to put an iPhone/iPad charger in each seat, life would be great ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />
“…we would also like to inform you that we have dispatched 2 of our most fervent “Brand Specialists” to Jason Chen’s house to introduce him to the business end of a jackboot.”
If he needs a travel partner, I’m available.
MDN MW: points, as in How many points would it take to get a free ticket to Munich?
if it’s legit DON’T take ’em up on the offer til AFTER the iPhone g4 launch.
If Gray falls for this he’s toast.
its a joke, a marketing director would not fail to properly space the paragraphs
and its not that funny either
I wonder if he has some free time now?
This is yet one more reason why Gizmodo should be considered the absolute scum of the earth, for needlessly outing Mr. Powell and trampling all over his privacy in their handling of Apple’s stolen property.
Yeah, but only Bavarian beer… the other oh well.
Hmm, maybe Nicola Lange is a pseudonym for Steve Jobs…
Ship him off to Munich and get him out of Cupertino:)
Yes, It’s a brilliant marketing move for Lufthansa
Yes, Gizmodo is scum
Yes, This was an advanced prototype but not the final product
Yes, It will only work to help Apple who will undoubtedly make a joke out of this at the rollout if they are smart bringing Powell out with a phone actually attached to his wrist with an “iChain”
@PR
Brilliant! (and quite possible)
I’m sure Apple gas rules against takeing such gifts and the fact he has to accept via Twitter would mean unless he is recently out of work there is no way he can take them up on this offer.
Can you picture Powell asking his supervisor for some vacation time?
“Umm, I’d just like to thank you guys in management again for not giving me the axe . . . Quick question . . . . Do you mind if I take the next few days off . . . There’s this great place overseas that serves top notch German beer, and, well, it seems they’d like to fly me over there . . . . you know, because of the incident.”
(Apple’s answer, which I’ll just let you imagine for yourself)
“Yes, I understand. I’ll just get back to work then.”
The invitation to drink German beer is real.
The real question is, does Grey Powell actually exist?
She has to be the most brilliant marketing executive in the western world!
Apple, sign her up! And please, may Jobs have mercy on Gray’s soul (he seems like a nice dude).
Who is Gray Powell?
Apple Inc. employment policies will preclude Gray from accepting this offer…….. 🙁
