“You’ll never get tired of the same view from these windows. Winscape consists of a pair of 46-inch 1080p plasma monitors mounted vertically, some high-resolution footage shot with a RED ONE camcorder, and a Mac Pro running software that splits the video into two feeds that fit into the twin screens,” Charlie White reports for DVICE.
“Ryan Hoagland’s masterpiece would’ve been impressive enough at that point, but he took it to the next level,” White reports. “He rigged up a necklace that shines an infrared beam at a Wiimote, which with the help of a little computer and video trickery, makes the image pan in the opposite direction you’re moving.”

“Winscape”? Bleh, couldn’t they have come up with a better name?
I want the backlit jellyfish display that they have at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. That thing is cool!
I have a feeling there is a niche market for this product in everywhere that is not called Slough.
Hmmm . . . I wonder if I could get one with a view of de ever-declining social and computing relevance of Windows® OS?
Yeh-heh-heh-hehesssss . . .
Portscape? Dreamscape? Macscape? Viewscape?
That is absolutely brilliant!
So in other words, almost exactly like this:
Why buy a Big Ass Table, when you can get the Mammoth Monitors!
Microsoft wanted to market a new browser, so they stole Netscape and renamed it Winscape?
What?
Does no-one think about these things?!
they got me in the first 5 seconds…
the ‘perfect view’ has a huge gap in the middle??? ugh
Ok, after watching the video, can you set it up so the hammerhead shark is trying to attack you at all times… put the baby in the room, turn off the lights, turn up the sound and lock the door
@ChrissyOne
Lookee at your link.
If I’m not mistaken, it’s a TABLET computer.
Note: funny hinge.
@ Mr. Reeee
Well, that video is over 2 years old. As you know, we were all using tablet computers by 2006. >.<
So niceee!
High….definitely
$$$
Fantastic, a patently fake view and a suntan from the radiation from the two monitors at the same time…
What would be fabulous would be to use the wicked witch flying by in the tornado scene from the wizard of oz!
An occasional bird colliding against the virtual window pane would add still more realism.
Got to hook this sucker up to a clock and record the scene at different times of day so that you can get the correct time of day “feel” in the window.
What fun though–so many possibilities!
@John
Or hook it up to a live hi def camera with the interface with the wii remote controlling zooming and panning….
Then sell subscriptions to various camera feeds… London, Times Square, SF Bay, Vegas…
Great – unless you’re the other person in the room… who, after five minutes, will probably be vomiting all over your carpet from motion sickness.
Chrissy
I have not heard from you for agess….
Can you come on a date with me?
😀

Nuthin’ to it!
