Me-too Microsoft to hold special ‘Pink phone’ event on April 12

MacDailyNews Take: Some “mystery.” See photo (left).

Fried continues, “The devices, code-named Pure and Turtle, are both slider phones, each with a touch screen and keyboard, a source told CNET. In the U.S., the devices will run on Verizon Wireless’ network and go on sale within the month following the event. Microsoft plans to unveil the devices at the April 12 event in San Francisco.”

MacDailyNews Take: “Unveil?” See photo (left).

Fried continues, “Turtle and Pure are more in line with the market Microsoft targeted with the Sidekick, the T-Mobile device it acquired as part of its 2008 Danger acquisition.”

MacDailyNews Take: The excitement is nonexistent.

  1. Did Microsoft ever recover all that lost Sidekick user data?

And who at Microsoft thought “Turtle” was a good name? I guess it sort of looks like a turtle…

  2. BBBBbut it doesn’t have a virtual keyboard. Consumers will not buy a smartphone with a physical keyboard unless you get 2 for $100.00 and call them Blackberries.

These phones have failure written all over them.
