  1. im thinking its for the NEW iPhone updates…. iChat 2 way! Video to Video iChat from iPhones and iPod Touches… Duh. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  2. I imagine the Touch will get a camera in 2010 and I would think a video camera would be more appropriate for a tablet, however, those with multiple chins won’t like it one bit.

  3. As was discussed in another thread, recently, there are other factors that are more important than more MegaPixels. A better lens, especially one with at least a minimum ability to focus, is one. BETTER pixels – free of artifacts and noise – is another.
I’m not suggesting that the next gen iPhone should come equipped with a focusable 3X zoom Leica lens and the CCD from a Nikon DSLR, or that hi-def video be an option, just that the goal be a better picture rather a boost in pixel count.

    Merry-merry, guys.

  4. @breeze,

What I meant, hastily written, was that I suspect it’s cheap enough to put a lower res camera on the front for ichat (at low res to ensure lower bandwidth use) and a hi res camera on the back for more quality picture taking.

  5. @b:

and what I meant was that if that was indeed the case, it would be a perfect situation and for a ( possible) desired after market modification/upgrade to the low res camera…

  6. iPod touch needs this camera, desperatly

I know Steve hates making things any bigger than they are but in this case the camera and gps is imparitive to this devices complete success, at least the cam, gps okay whatever , but good cam plus iPod is the way to go
