The case could however persist on the basis of its common-law claim, so long as plaintiff lawyers amend it to reduce scope. An altered suit would likely carry lower penalties for Apple.”

My late 2006 17 inch iMac 2Ghz Core 2 Duo began displaying Vertical on October 12th. About 3 weeks after my AppleCare Extension coverage expired.
It’s like this problem was meant to happen when Warranty runs out.
I called AppleCare and they accepted my iMac for a free repair ( No Questions Asked). Though I did have to return to the Applestore multiple times as they forgot to connect Airport, then the iSight, And lastly bluetooth wasn’t working. 3 Trips..!!!!
But I’m happy now.
Any of you who have an early or Late 2006 iMac with this problem, CALL APPLE…!!!!! They will fix you display for free.
See, I told them that they should sue in Marshall, Texas. And there should be some sort of screwball patent issue added too.

Yup, ElderNorm, you’re right. Texas is the favoured habitat of the “Long Neck Patent Troll.” We can only pray for a quick extinction before his venomous species invades the rest of the country.
