Apple has released Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 2.7 which extends RAW image compatibility for Aperture 2, iPhoto ’08 and iPhoto ’09 for the following cameras:
• Canon EOS-1D Mark IV
• Canon EOS 7D
• Canon PowerShot G11
• Nikon D3S
• Nikon D300S
• Nikon D3000
Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 2.7 is available via Software Update.

Woohoo! Perfect timing.
UPS delivering Canon 7D today. Damn that looks like a hot camera. Merry Christmas to me.
come on, bring out the sony alpha series
Yes, I second the Sony Alpha series. I was a Minolta user and wanted to keep my glass. But even though it takes great pictures and does what I need it to do, I get no support. Come on Apple!
what about the Panasonic GF1 ~~~
Apple’s failure at timely support updates for RAW has me switched to Lightroom. Still no support for my camera after 7 months! Aperture is a dying product without a major infusion of developmental lifeblood.
SW=thus as in ‘Thus it is’
Still no LX3… mmm.
Aperture is a gorgeous product, certainly not dying.
Odd that this “latest update” doesn’t support two of the most interesting cameras out there right how: The Panasonic LX3 and the Canon S90.
@Babakool:
And your unsupported camera is what exactly?
Aperture’s RAW support is a joke. No LX-3? You have GOT to be kidding me. I am so glad I never jumped on that bandwagon. With Adobe’s Lightroom, I get full RAW support for all my cameras. Apple simply cannot keep up with Adobe on this one.
Certainly that should prove to folks that a raw format isn’t a digital negative. Each digital camera, sometimes upgrades to firmware create a different raw type file format.
By the way it is raw not RAW. RAW isn’t an acronym for anything.
Oh-well after ten years of being a digital bigot I’m so happy I went back to film.
You futz with digital while I create spectacular film photos.
Too bad it’s a Snow Leopard only update. If you can’t use SL because you’re using a PPC machine you’re still SOL. Poop! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”rolleyes” style=”border:0;” />
LOL @ bubba jones. What a hilarious joke

No, it’s not Snow Leopard only – I downloaded it via Software Update for Leopard 10.5.8. The update is available for whatever OS versions that can run Aperture 2 and iPhoto ’08.
@The Mac That Roared:
Time to get a new Intel-based Mac and start “roaring” again. a PPC-based Mac is at least 3-4 years old now?

@Julian
Sure. Fork over the money if it’s that easy for you.
The fact is, My G5 is still rock solid in my recording studio and with the amount of audio software reauthorizing nightmare I’ll have to deal with, new PCIe cards that I’ll have to buy and the fact that I’ll lose some truly excellent PPC only software synths, a new Mac Pro is not exactly appealing. That’s on top of the 4k I’ll have to spend.
But hey, if you want to send me a big fat check, I’ll let you.
@Bokweb
That’s not what it said on Apple’s website.
Because of all the audio software I run, I’ve stayed at 10.4.11 because everything’s rock solid and I absolutely need it to be.
I checked software update and the only update available was for Safari.
Julian is a fool. That much is clear
I am using a MacBookPro and I cannot install it. I get the following message after running Software Update, “The update “Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update” can’t be installed.
Any help is appreciated
