Apple Mac production helps drive Quanta to record month

Apple Sale“Quanta Computer has reported consolidated revenues of NT$93.3 billion (US$2.88 billion) for November 2009, the highest monthly figure on record and up 8.5% on month and 36.6% on year; however, the company’s combined consolidated revenues for the first 11 months of 2009 still dropped 4.4% on year to NT$700.54 billion,” Yen-Shyang Hwang and Joseph Tsai report for DigiTimes.

“Although Quanta’s notebook shipments slipped about 100,000 units on month to only 3.8 million units in November, the increased proportion of Apple [Mac] models, which had higher selling prices, as well as strong all-in-one PC and consumer electronics shipments helped the company’s November revenues reach a new high,” Hwang and Tsai report.

Hwang and Tsai report, “Quanta expects its notebook shipments in the fourth quarter to increase 15-20% sequentially, but noted that component shortages might still impact expected growth.”
