“The iPhone game allows users to play as or against Woods on famous golf courses such as Pebble Beach; the game comes complete with 3-D graphics and play-by-play commentary,” Woyke reports. “EA, which also produces versions of the game for game consoles… is–like Woods’ other business partners–standing by the athlete. ‘Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged…we respect Tiger’s privacy…and we look forward to seeing him back on the golf course,’ the company said in a statement.”

The message is clearly “Tiger uses product X, therefore you should as well because is to be emulated”. As such, his behaviour certainly can be put under a microscope, because he is the public face of whatever corporation is underwriting his lifestyle.
As well, how often have you heard Woods defended against accusations of steroid use by appeals to his supposed integrity? Well guess what, sportsgans: Tiger Woods is a liar and a cheat. This puts claims of Woods integrity in perspective.
Woods got paid obscene amounts of money to whack a little white ball. He is ultimately a useless person. Yet we have trouble finding money for teachers and shortchange military pensions for the care and treatment of people who gave life and limb for our respective countries. In light of this, the defense of a tactless scumbag from the scrutiny and criticism he so richly deserves is disgusting.
