  1. I’ve been VERY unhappy with performances of the Faces feature. I can understand facial recognition missing every now and then, but it misses so many clear faces — often completely missing the presence of a large face in the center of the image. I’m so tired of clicking on “Add Missing Face” and having to drag and resize the empty box I’m almost ready to give up on the feature.

  2. iPhoto has constantly lagged and gone into beachball spin requiring complete force restart of computer since installing Snow Leopard in Edit mode, this needs to be fixed. My son and daughter’s Macs iPhoto doing same thing while enhancing, cropping etc in Edit mode since Snow Leopard installation.

  3. I have had that with the new iPhoto (I moved from 08 to 09) on Leopard (PPC desktop) but, in contrast to your experience, NOT in SL on the Macbook (core duo Intel).

The update has made recognition much faster and more reliable..

Maybe you need to do a rebuild..
“Rebuilding the thumbnail cache gives iPhoto faster access to thumbnail images and the resulting display of the photos themselves. Over time, as photos are added and removed, this cache becomes less efficient.”

    option-command Open iPhoto to rebuild.

  4. Ok… someone else verify this for me. Now, when I go to edit a picture (a quick crop or straighten… I do more advanced editing in photoshop), my picture gets a bit blurry. To get back to the original sharp image, I have to click Done, then minimize the pic and re-enlarge it. I’m hoping for another update soon to fix this apparent new bug!!
