  1. Good grief. Can we give the guy some privacy?

I don’t want to hear any more speculation on this subject. It’s done.

Considering he was in a hospital bed for days and had an organ transplant just weeks ago, I’d say it’s a good sign to see him behaving normally no matter what his weight.

Let’s give the guy a chance to recover a while.

And please, no more disrespectful comments.

  2. @Big Als MBP
Who knew Jonathan Ive was so fat?
Ive looks normal, which in America is at least a little fat. Jobs looks so thin. it’s the comparison.

Does the iPhone camera also put 10 pounds on the subject?

  3. It’s great to see Steve back at work. I was under the impression that his pancreatic cancer was the rare treatable kind and that his liver transplant has been the final treatment to get him back on track. He is apparently in remission and his thinness is only to be expected as he couldn’t metabolise proteins. If this is no longer the case then he will start to gain weight and that’s what he, his family and friends and every Machead on the planet is hoping for so lets stay positive please.

Last year I had two friends with cancer and both beat it. One of them died of a congenital heart defect after getting terribly unfit due to the toll the chemo put on his system but that was a couple of months after he got the all clear for the cancer.

So you can beat many cancers nowadays if you treat it early enough. let’s give Steve Jobs the support and encouragement he needs and stop with the death toll please guys.

Steve, if you read this forum, much love dude, you’ve have given us so many great products and done more than your fair share of innovation in your industry. Get healthy, be happy and rock on!!!

  4. It depends on the cancer and the stage it’s treated. I’ve just had two sets of operations for melanomas and the specialist has given me a 100 percent recovery. Another month and it would have been months of radiotherapy and a 65 percent survival rate. After that it’s chemotherapy and a will. It just depends… Frankly I don’t wish anyone to have ANY type of cancer. At the very minimum it freaks the crap out you.

  5. …”ve looks normal, which in America is at least a little fat. “

Exactly; and for the rest of the world, it is Jobs who looks normal and Ive (if that’s him in the picture) looks overweight (not exactly fat). That should be little surprise to the Americans, considering that officially, more than half (about 65%) of Americans of ALL ages are overweight, and more than half of those who are overweight are actually obese (37%). Obviously, Jobs’s normal weight is in the minority.

Vast majority of “He looks gaunt” comments seem to come from the American media, not surprisingly…

Stats I’ve been hearing in recent years, and a LOT in recent weeks

1/3 of ENTIRE US Population – 100,000,000 are Obese

Just not sure if that’s the ass or between the ears

  7. Actualy, when becoming old, it is healthier to weight less than the average. And yes, though Steve is younger than i am, he still is getting older. Without forgetting that he was seriously sick and that one does not go back from there like that, in a snap!
