RIM: BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac coming in September

Research In Motion (RIM) has announced “BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac” is “coming in September.”

RIM promised that with “BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac” users will “be able sync your iTunes playlists and personal information like contacts, tasks and appointments; install new software, games, and more.”

RIM, which is apparently unaware of the existence of Apple’s iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iTunes App Store, states on their website that “‘BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac’ will offer the best of both worlds by allowing you to manage aspects of your BlackBerry smartphone from your Mac.”

BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac will require Mac OS X version 10.5.5.
