Apple’s $1 billion data center slated for Maiden, North Carolina?

“Officials in the Catawba County town of Maiden say they will make a major economic-related announcement late this afternoon, amid speculation that Apple Corp. will build its $1 billion data center there,” Steve Lyttle reports for The Charlotte Observer.

“The announcement is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Maiden Recreation Center, on East Klutz Street,” Lyttle reports.

“Maiden Mayor Bob Smyre said last week that the Catawba County Economic Development Corp. will make the announcement, but officials with that organization will not comment on what will be announced today,” Lyttle reports.
