Beleaguered Dell’s terrible track record in ‘gadgets’

Apple Online Store Beleaguered Dell is reportedly “working on a handheld tablet based on Google’s Android software and an ARM-based processor, according to news reports,” Brian Caulfield writes for Forbes.

“The problem: Dell’s track record is terrible. In 2006, Dell killed its line of digital music players. In 2007 it discontinued its Axim line of handheld computers and stopped selling Dell-branded televisions,” Caulfield writes.

“Last year Dell even reportedly killed a handheld phone that carriers panned as too ‘dull,'” Caulfield writes. “At least the team is learning faster, killing a product before it was even launched.”
