What’s in a name?  Apple goes from ‘iPhone 3G S’ to ‘iPhone 3GS’

“When first unveiled about three weeks ago, the Cupertino, Calif.-computer maker called its new iPhone the ‘iPhone 3G S,’ with a space between the G and the S,” Ben Charny blogs for The Wall Street Journal. “This week, Apple said it’s now referred to as “iPhone 3GS” — no spaces.”

Charny reports, “Apple’s Web site and the iPhone 3GS box use an ‘S’ surrounded by a square with rounded edges. It’s a copywriter’s nightmare.”

MacDailyNews Take: No, wer’e not going back and changing all the “3G S” references. It’ll just be “3GS” from here on out. Now, if we can just get everybody on the “iPod touch,” lowercase “t,” and “Mac mini,” lowercase “m,” trains, we’ll be all set.
