Obama gives Queen Elizabeth another Apple iPod

“Barack Obama met the Queen at Buckingham Palace today and gave her a gift of an iPod loaded with video footage and photographs of her 2007 United States visit to Richmond, Jamestown and Williamsburg in Virginia. In return, the Queen gave the President a silver framed signed photograph of herself and the Duke of Edinburgh – apparently a standard present for visiting dignitaries,” Toby Harnden blogs for The Telegraph.

“There was widespread criticism in Britain and from Anglophiles in the US of Mr Obama’s recent present to [UK Prime Minister] Mr Gordon Brown of a box set of classic American movies on DVDs that were not compatible with British DVD players,” Harnden reports.

Seriously, you really can’t ever have enough iPods. One for movies, one for running, one in your iPhone, etc.

Gregory Katz reports for The Associated Press, “Queen Elizabeth has [now] met with 11 of the last 12 U.S. presidents, including a meeting that took place with Harry Truman when she was a princess, according to Buckingham Palace spokesman David Pogson. The only president she did not meet was Lyndon Johnson.” Full article here.
